On January 1st, 2020, I published my first two native applications to the App Store and Play Store. I’m pretty proud of these as they are the first public App I’ve made for iOS and the first ever app I built for Android. Blader Union is a company I co-founded back in 2017. We started small trying to handle managing the swell of news and articles that existed but never had a centralized home. We created Blader Union to be that home and have moved it from just being a website to a full 501c3 non profit company. Beyond just curating content, we also create our own in house videos and articles, we travel to contests, have put on live stream events, traveled the world for inline skating and created a crow funding campaign that is now running on monthly subscriptions and has paid out thousands of dollars to riders, creators and more.
These apps were both coded natively. They work in conjunction to the sites reactive nature to screen resolutions and work as a home for users to come back to the site every day for updated content. The apps are on V1.0 which was created as the entry point to the content on mobile, but we’ve already started planning features for v1.1 and onwards. If you’d like to explore some of the content, you can head over to BladerUnion.com or download the apps below. - Travis
